These services are available to employees, spouses, dependents, parents, and parents-in-law at no cost to you, whether they're on your health plan or not! Their advocates can walk you through your benefit plans and explain coverage, review claims, find in-network providers, and more.

While we've always offered personalized support, Health Advocate takes that support to a whole new level, offering your people one-on-one consultation to manage their health questions. Plus, it's completely confidential. Since it's a third-party service, none of the information you share with your health advocate is shared with your employer or even with Nextep.

Health Advocate Features Include:
  • Explain health conditions, diagnoses, and treatment options
  • Arrange second opinions so you can make informed decisions
  • Research and resolve billing issues and claim disputes
  • Research and identify the latest, most advanced approaches to care
  • Coordinate clinical services related to care
  • Assistance with locating "best-in-class" physicians and medical centers for second opinions
  • Help employees prepare for doctor visits
  • Answer personal benefit questions, including explaining employees' share of the costs
  • Walk you through open enrollment and your benefit plan options
  • Find in-network care, help make appointments, and securely transfer medical records
  • Identify emotional and mental health issues and find expert-recommended coping strategies
  • Locate eldercare, long-term help, and other services that may fall outside of traditional coverage

A: If you are a full-time, benefits-eligible employee and your company offers one of Nextep's medical benefit plans, yes!*

A: Health Advocate is offered at no cost to the employee or the company!

While your medical care will be your financial responsibility, we know that there is a lot of planning and decision-making that goes into the process. This is Nextep's way of making that process easier for you and your family.

Additionally, using our Health Advocate services could actually save you money. Your advocate can help you find the right health plan for your siutuation during open enrollment, find preventative care and wellness programs, help with claims, and much more.

A: You can contact your Health Advocate directly by phone at 877-324-0257, online at healthadvocate.com/nextep, by logging into your Nextep account, or you can call your Nextep experts and we can get you in touch with your Health Advocate. When you give us a call, we'll be able to redirect you if needed.

A: Reach your Health Advocate at their regular business hours at 877-324-0257, Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 9 pm, Central Time.

Their staff is also available to offer assistance after hours and on weekends.
