- Bitewing x-rays are covered 100% 1x/year for adults and 2x/year for children as part of preventative care. Panoramic, comprehensive, or additional x-rays may incur additional cost.
Answers To Your Questions
How do I receive dental care?
Simply select an in-network dentist according to your plan and call to make an appointment. In your Elevate by Nextep™ account, you can use single sign-in to your dental plan and view available providers.
When at the appointment, use the employee's social security number as the member ID. Regardless of which family member is receiving care, use the policy-holding employee's SSN.
Will I receive an ID card?
No ID card is needed for dental or vision plans. Simply use the employee's social security number as the member ID for any covered member when making your appointment.
If needed, you can also access and show an electronic ID card right from your Elevate by Nextep™ mobile app! To access the card in your app, click Benefits. Tap the View Card button to pull up your ID card!
How do I find an in-network provider?
To locate an in-network provider, log in to your Elevate by Nextep™ account, go to Benefits, and click Dental. Or, call MetLife at 1-800-GET-MET8. Members should verify their providers are currently in MetLife's network when making appointments.
If you're not yet a member and would like to preview the thousands of in-network general dentists and specialists to choose from nationwide, look for a list of participating dentists online at metlife.com/dental.
FIND A PROVIDERHow do I get out-of-network care?
You are free to see any dentist, but we recommend choosing an in-network provider to save an average of 15–45% on covered services via negotiated in-network costs. Out-of-network dentists may charge more, though our plan still offers generous reimbursements for select out-of-network care.
To submit an out-of-pocket claim, just download a form or file it directly through your dental portal via the Elevate by Nextep™ account or mobile app.

Log in to your enrollment portal in your Elevate by Nextep™ account or mobile app to see the specific plans available to you.
How much does it cost?
When it's time to enroll, you can view pricing for all plan options right in your Elevate by Nextep™ account or mobile app. As you click through the enrollment screens, a running tally will track and display your monthly costs in real time.
