Offered through MetLife, use Nextep's vision benefit to protect your eyesight and get affordable, expert eye care for you and your family.
Our vision plan covers a wide array of services and materials, including routine eye exams, your choice of glasses or contact lenses, fittings, plus additional savings on prescription sunglasses and laser vision correction.
- Annual eye exams covered 100% after $10 copay
- Choice of eyeglasses or contact lenses, covered 100% after $15 copay, up to $150
- Savings on lens enhancements, including UV-resistant coating and progressive lenses
- Discounts on laser eye surgery
- Benefits can be used once per rolling 12-month year, as opposed to calendar year
- Reimbursement available for out-of-network services and materials

Q: How do I receive vision care?
A: You can go to any licensed eye care professional or choose from the thousands of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians at private practices or popular retail locations such as Pearle Vision, Visionworks, and more.
For additional convenience, a special service arrangement with WalMart and Sam's Club makes it easy for you to use your benefits even though they are out-of-network. They check your eligibility and process claims so there is less paperwork for you.
When at the appointment, use the employee's social security number as the member ID. Regardless of which family member is receiving care, use the policy-holding employee's SSN.
Q: Will I receive an ID card?
A: No ID card is needed for dental or vision plans. Simply use the employee's social security number as the member ID. If you prefer a physical card, you may download these printable templates:
Q: How do I find an in-network provider?
A: To locate an in-network provider, log in to your account at clients.nextep.com, go to Apps, and click the Vision app. Or, call MetLife at 1-855-MET-EYE1. Members should verify their providers are currently in MetLife's network when making appointments.
Q: How do I get out-of-network care?
A: Out-of-network providers are not bound to the negotiated in-network cost, but our plan does allow generous reimbursements for select out-of-network services. To submit a claim for reimbursement of out-of-pocket costs, visit your Vision app.
